There are many popular sites at Glacier National Park, and one of the most popular is Lake McDonald. Just past the West Glacier park entrance, Lake McDonald attracts millions of visitors every year. At nearly a dozen miles long and about 500 feet deep, it is the biggest lake in the Park. It is perfect for a picnic, quick dip, or camping. Canoe rentals are available and a shuttle service provides access along the lakeside and camping areas. If you are wanting a short day hike, several excellent options exist along the edges of Lake McDonald, but be bear aware!
